Came across an article I had saved from Aug 2015 Real Simple magazine just yesterday. Article was based on a study published in Medicine & Science in Sports and Exercise. Very much supports what you are saying. Article states that if you want to ease a chronic health problem...then see a pro and go slow. "Exercise eases the symptoms of many chronic conditions, reduces pain by increasing blood flow and promoting the release of feel-good brain chemicals, like endorphins." But here's the part of the study that I found most motivating: over the 3 year period of the study, those who were the sedentary subjects "had less gray matter in the brain regions responsible for motor control and coordination". A good reason to start moving, however slowly!
Thanks for the evidence-based support Wendy. Great advice and also very encouraging to those that move on a regular basis!
