Matt's definitely not your stereotypical trainer. He's simply a guy who has a passion for what he does; and his passion is contagious!
Training with Matt is like working out with a friend. Each session was casual but very focused. I was training because I needed to be physically fit, but Matt was sincerely interested in what my motivations were.
There was no failing with Matt. Even if I felt like I couldn't do any more, he encouraged me to increase my best by just one more. Just one more squat, just one more pull up, just one second longer of a plank. Matt became my workout partner, not just the person I was paying to "train" me to be more physically fit. He truly cares for the wellness of a person as a whole.
When I started working with Matt, I was borderline everything; borderline diabetic and borderline high cholesterol and I was only 32. Matt gave me skills and exercises that I could work on in the gym or at home. He gave me healthy eating ideas and would follow up on how I was doing. He was always a text message away when I was feeling discouraged or just needed a bit of motivation to get me to the gym.
